What is Select?
Select gives recreational players a higher-level training and team environment—bridging the gap between foundational
development and travel soccer. Players develop technical skill, tactical awareness, and team habits through structured
coaching and competitive local match play, without the extensive travel and cost of regional programs.

Program Snapshot
Development & Commitment
- Age Groups: U11–U19 (teams may align with combined divisions such as U12, U14, U16, etc.)
- Coaching: In-person Grassroots Certified Coaches
- Training: 2×/week, 75–90 minutes
- Off-Season: Summer & winter opportunities at coach’s discretion
Competition & Cost
- League Play: RVA Cross Association (localized play)
- Tournament Play: End-of-season tournament each Fall & Spring (included)
- Annual Player Fee: $450 (Fall 2026 + Spring 2027)
- Uniforms: Purchased separately
2026 Player ID Sessions
Sessions for each age group will be held in April 2026. Dates and times are tentative and subject to change. Attending an ID Session does not guarantee placement on a Select team.

Evaluation Policies & Procedures
- Registration Required: Players must register for their appropriate age group through Sports Connect at the link HERE.
- Deposit: Upon acceptance, a $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure the player’s position.
- Payments: Full payment (up front) or payment plans can be set up at time of acceptance.
Makeup Policy
If your player cannot attend one or both scheduled dates due to conflict, injury/illness, or any reason,
please register as normal and email

We will make best efforts to accommodate.
Playing Up Policy
Players must register and try out with their designated age group. If playing up is determined to be a strong fit,
requests may be considered by coaching staff and the program director. Email requests prior to tryouts:

Player Placement Philosophy
The purpose of Select is to develop players that are seeking to step up from Recreation to Travel, school-based sports, and beyond. While we do look at a base level of skill and technical ability - a player's attitude and coach-ability are at the forefront what what this program is intended to do - move players from Recreation to Competitive soccer.
Day of ID Sessions
What to Bring
- Soccer cleats, shin guards, athletic shorts, jersey
- Appropriately sized soccer ball:
- U10–U12: Size 4
- U13+: Size 5
- Enough water for the session
Upon Arrival
- Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to start time
- Proceed directly to assigned field and check in with the coach/staff.
- Players receive a sticker with first name & tryout number (keep on front of shirt)
Parent Viewing Area
Parents must remain in the grassy area adjacent to the wood fence near the parking lot, the picnic shelter,
or the concession stand area. No parents or siblings will be permitted on sidelines or in common areas
in or around playing surfaces.
Program Details
Select is a full-year team environment built to bridge the gap between Foundations and Travel—focused on skill,
confidence, and competitive match play without heavy regional travel.
Select teams compete locally in the RVA Cross Association.
Matches are held across the Richmond metro area with home games at Fighting Creek Park.
Games are typically on Saturdays, with Sundays reserved for makeups when needed.
Select is a full-year commitment covering Fall 2026 and Spring 2027.
Teams play competitive league schedules and participate in an end-of-season tournament in both Fall and Spring
(included in player fees).

Team Formation
Teams are formed each spring for the upcoming Fall–Spring season year. Interest sessions/evaluations typically begin in
April. Rosters may be limited to support development and playing time.
If space is limited, invitations are based on what coaches observe. Players don’t need to be “top level” to be considered—we value the right mindset.
