Frequently Asked Questions
Will my child get an equal chance to play?
Yes. Our policy requires that every player participates in at least 50% of each game. Our coaches diligently follow this rule, even given the dynamic nature of soccer. Occasionally, exceptions may occur due to unforeseen circumstances. If you have any questions or concerns about playing time, please speak directly with your child’s coach, or contact the Recreation Director for additional support.
How are teams formed?
Teams are formed through a draft conducted by the coaches following the Skills and Drills Evaluations. This process helps ensure balanced, competitive teams for an enjoyable season for all players. Please note that we do not accept specific coach or teammate requests, as team placement is determined during the draft.
If you are interested in volunteering as a head coach, assistant coach, or team manager, please complete the volunteer section during registration. If you would like to request to coach alongside someone specific as an assistant coach, please email the Recreation Director at [email protected].
Why do some teams win more often than others?
While the draft is designed to create fair and balanced teams, various factors may still affect team performance:
- A player’s height, age, gender, or years of experience do not always determine overall team competitiveness.
- All of our coaches are volunteers, each bringing unique experience and skill levels.
- Player dropouts during the season can impact team numbers and performance. If your team is affected, please notify the Recreation Director.
- Inconsistent attendance can also affect a team’s ability to compete each week.
At Fury FC, we strive to foster a fun, inclusive, and positive soccer experience for every player. This season, we will keep official scores, and coaches are required to report game results to the Recreation Director via email after each match. The end-of-season tournament will be seeded based on regular season results. While we recognize that success is measured by much more than the final score, we also believe that healthy competition can motivate and reward both players and coaches who thrive in a competitive environment.
How will I know if a game is canceled due to weather?
In the event of inclement weather, we will notify families via email, text message, and by contacting coaches directly. Updates will also be posted on our Facebook page. If the weather appears uncertain, please check all communication channels to ensure you receive timely updates.
Will a canceled game be rescheduled?
We make every effort to reschedule games canceled due to weather. However, make-up games depend on field and coach availability, as well as the remaining time in the season.
What does my player need for the season?
