Scholarship Program

  • Purpose: To recognize outstanding student athletes, who have made contributions to the soccer program of Fury FC, through a one-time gift of funds to be provided to college or trade school bound, high school seniors.'
  • Foundation: Focus on soccer, academics, and community.
  • Soccer: Must have participated in the program as a recreation or travel player, coach, referee, and/or in some other capacity for a period of no less than two years and within the last two years. During this time the candidate must have demonstrated an emphasis on sportsmanship, an understanding of the game, and acted as a positive role-model for others.
  • Academics: Must have demonstrated a successful academic career including both core curriculum and school-related activities. There is no requirement for a specific GPA; however, the committee will look for examples of the candidate's ability to balance athletics and education.
  • Community: The committee will evaluate the candidate's participation in the community through other service organizations.
  • Size and Structure of Awards: Fury FC designates a maximum yearly award total of $5,000, with a maximum of 5 scholarships awarded.  The individual amounts and the number of scholarships awarded can vary from year to year at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.  The awards will be based on the criteria outlined above. If the committee does not receive any qualified submissions, the award can be deferred, with majority approval from the Fury FC Board of Directors.
  • The Selection Committee: The Fury FC Board, with necessary alternates (Min of 3 people, max of 5), will act as the selection committee and will review the submissions and select the winners. Alternates will be chosen from other Fury FC Officers who volunteer to participate. Board members and Officers, who have children submitting applications, or those giving recommendations, are ineligible to participate on the selection committee.
  • Application Process Required Documents:
    • Completed Scholarship Application (Complete in Word or upload and complete in Google Docs, export as PDF to email)
    • High School transcript (scanned copy)
    • Documentation of extracurricular activities (on the application)
